Bolivian heavy transport drivers are facing unprecedented challenges due to severe fuel shortages, with reports indicating waits of up to nine days to refuel their vehicles across major cities. This crisis is significantly impacting their ability to operate and deliver goods, leading to widespread concern within the sector. Lucio Gómez, a representative from the Confederation of Drivers, issued a strong statement directly addressing the President, asserting that ensuring fuel supply is a fundamental obligation of the government. "President, it is not a solution to say 'I cannot guarantee fuel,' it is your obligation," Gómez stated, underscoring the urgency of the situation. He highlighted that drivers are spending a cumulative 18 days per month in queues, severely disrupting their work and the national economy. The drivers are calling on the government to provide immediate and effective solutions to stabilize fuel availability, ensuring that the transport sector, which generates significant economic resources, can function without interruption.
