La Paz, Bolivia – During the 'Primer Debate Presidencial' hosted by UNITEL BOLIVIA, presidential candidate Manfred Reyes Villa of APB - Súmate outlined his vision for Bolivia's economic future, centering on the nation's vast lithium reserves. Reyes Villa stated that a strategy focused on selling lithium at a price of $10,000 per ton would lead to "total economic solvency for the country." In his remarks, the candidate lamented previous missed opportunities, noting, "We have regrettably let the lithium train pass when it cost $80,000 a ton." He emphasized that securing a price of $10,000 per ton today would be sufficient to achieve financial independence. "By being paid this, we will achieve total solvency in our country's economy, to avoid continuing to borrow, extending our hand, or seeing if we can follow the line of President Arce to go for Assembly credits," Reyes Villa asserted, highlighting a desire to move away from external financial reliance and solve the current economic crisis facing Bolivia.
