UTAD University is set to host its annual Game Art Day on July 12th, an exclusive event designed for aspiring and current game artists. The day will feature a series of workshops and presentations led by senior professionals from the video game industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about 3D art and artistic direction, gaining insights into creating visual worlds from initial concept to final game engine integration. The event will cover the use of industry-standard tools, including Adobe, Blender, and Unreal Engine, providing practical knowledge for participants. Key speakers include Beatriz Arévalo, Senior Level Artist at Lords of the Fallen, and Ramón Acedo, Art Director at Song of Nunu. Participants can also benefit from portfolio reviews conducted by these and other experienced professionals. In addition to the educational sessions, UTAD will offer a scholarship opportunity, providing up to 2500 euros towards their master's programs. The university boasts a strong record, with its alumni contributing to major titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Metroid Dread, and its student projects having received over 70 awards. Spaces for the event are limited.
