Залиште гілки у спокої: чому не можна обрізати фруктові дерева восени і коли на…

In a recent instructional video, gardening enthusiast VasilyevnaOlesya shared her expert advice on the critical timing of tree pruning, challenging the widely accepted practice of autumn pruning. According to Olesya, autumn cuts leave trees susceptible to pests and fungal infections during the colder months, creating an "open gate for infection." She emphasized, "Every fresh cut in autumn is an open gate for infection, creating favorable conditions for overwintering pests and the development of fungal disease spores." Instead, she advocates for a two-phase annual pruning schedule. The first recommended period is late February, after the harshest frosts have subsided but before the tree's sap begins to flow. "The plant calmly tolerates pruning, and the cuts heal faster in spring," she explained. This timing minimizes stress on the tree and reduces the risk of disease. The second crucial pruning period is in June, for what she refers to as summer pruning. This method aims to regulate shoot growth, improve the tree's crown illumination, and redirect the tree's energy towards fruit production rather than excessive vegetative growth. "In June, I perform summer pruning to regulate shoot growth, improve crown illumination, and direct the tree's energy towards harvest, not excessive greenery," Olesya stated. She also briefly mentioned that peach trees prefer pruning in spring when they are flowering, with a light corrective prune in June to encourage future fruit buds. This detailed guidance provides valuable insights for gardeners seeking to optimize the health and yield of their fruit trees.
