Minsk, Belarus - A local resident has shared an unconventional method for dealing with dollar bills rejected by banks, claiming he successfully "washed" them to make them acceptable for exchange. The man, known online as #ВАСЬКАПИЛОТ, demonstrated soaking hundred-dollar bills, previously deemed unacceptable due to visible marks under ultraviolet light, in a bleach solution. According to the video, the bills were initially rejected by financial institutions because they would "light up" under UV light, indicating issues like mold or other contaminants. After soaking the currency in a solution containing "Белизна" (bleach), rinsing them in clean water, and carefully drying them, the man showed that the treated bills no longer exhibited the problematic reaction under UV light. He recounted his experience attempting to exchange the cleaned currency. While one bank reportedly recognized him and refused the bills, he stated that another bank meticulously checked each note and accepted all but one, which he had not subjected to the cleaning process. The man noted that the "washed" bills carried a distinct chlorine scent, reminiscent of a swimming pool. He included a disclaimer that his video is "not a call to action" and that viewers could "irrevocably lose savings" if attempting the method.
