Šolta Island, Croatia – August 25, 2025 – A significant forest fire erupted on Šolta Island today, sending large plumes of smoke into the sky and consuming vast areas of vegetation. The blaze, visible from a distance, quickly spread through the dense forest, with flames reaching considerable heights. Emergency services were immediately deployed to the scene. A firefighting plane was observed actively engaged in aerial operations, dropping water to combat the rapidly advancing fire. Local authorities have not yet released details regarding the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage, but efforts to contain the inferno are ongoing.
