Genki Moonbase: A Stylish Power Solution for Multiple Devices
“The Verge” has recently reviewed the Genki Moonbase, a new desktop power station priced at $129, designed to streamline the charging of multiple electronic devices. The device stands out with its unique aesthetic, featuring three glowing, color-changing AC outlets and four USB-C ports, offering power outputs of 140W, 100W, 30W, and 30W. In the review, the presenter demonstrated the Moonbase's capacity by simultaneously charging several handheld gaming consoles and other small gadgets. The power strip successfully delivered a total of 197 watts when charging four devices, and later, managed to charge seven devices, including additional accessories like a mini retro computer charger, with individual wattage readings displayed. While praising its multi-device charging capabilities and distinctive design, the reviewer noted a few minor drawbacks. Polarized plugs, such as those for a Dewalt battery charger, were found to be a tight fit. Additionally, a specific feature of Genki's optional Moonlink cables—a light-up tip intended to help locate devices in the dark—did not function when connected to the Moonbase, although it worked with an Asus charger. The Moonbase is available in white with orange accents and teal with dark gray housing, and supports EU, UK, and AU outlets.
