Bulgarian MP Exposes Shocking Government Corruption
Bulgarian MP Iveli Mihailov Accuses Government of Mismanagement and Corruption Sofia, Bulgaria – Bulgarian Member of Parliament Iveli Mihailov has leveled serious accusations against the government, alleging widespread mismanagement and corruption in the handling of state finances. In a recent interview, Mihailov cited specific examples of significant debt incurred by state-owned enterprises and municipalities. He claimed, "We see a lack of synchronization between parties. They work not for the people's interest, but for their own." His statements suggest a pattern of financial irregularities and raise concerns about the transparency and accountability of the government's budget allocation. Mihailov's claims include a 1.5 million BGN debt of a firm owned by the head of the National Assembly and 720,000 BGN debt of the Nedeliino municipality. He also pointed to the 24-hour news channel's 5.2 million BGN debt. He further alleges that these are not isolated incidents but part of a larger pattern of corruption. Mihailov's outspoken criticism has reportedly led to pressure and investigations against him. The government has yet to respond to these serious allegations. The situation underlines the need for increased transparency and scrutiny of public funds in Bulgaria.
