Local locksmith Victor Lobach, owner of the "Doors Locks Keys" shop on Volgogradskaya Street, 23, explains the growing demand for a specific type of key designed to open intercom systems. "These keys, made in Germany, are in high demand," Lobach says, holding up the key in question. "They're quite convenient for opening the intercom and then your apartment door without removing the key from your pocket." The key's unique feature is a small attachable module that easily fits onto the key and is used to open the intercom. The high demand is attributed to limited supply, with Lobach stating that they are currently selling at 50 rubles each.
