Prague, Czech Republic – A Regiojet bus driver was apprehended by police on the D7 highway near Panenský Týnec after passengers reported erratic driving and suspected intoxication. The incident occurred on the Prague-Chomutov route, with approximately 60 passengers on board. According to passenger accounts, the driver was observed swerving across the road and nearly falling asleep at the wheel. Despite repeated shouts from passengers to stop the bus, the driver reportedly refused. Concerned for their safety, passengers promptly contacted law enforcement. Upon arrival, police attempted to stop the bus, but the driver allegedly tried to evade them for up to forty kilometers before being successfully brought to a halt. A breathalyzer test conducted on the scene revealed a staggering blood alcohol content of 2.6‰. Witnesses at the scene described the driver, identified as a Czech national, as non-cooperative, reportedly slumping his head on the steering wheel after being stopped. The driver was subsequently taken into custody in handcuffs. A replacement driver was arranged to continue the journey for the stranded passengers.
