Wuntumi Summoned for Questioning at CID Headquarters
Accra, Ghana – NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wuntumi, has been invited for questioning at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Accra. This follows an incident on Friday in Kumasi where a joint team of national security and police officers were denied access to his residence due to the absence of a search warrant. A broadcast journalist from Channel One TV, reporting live from outside the CID headquarters, stated, "The team was denied access because, according to Wuntumi, they did not have a search warrant." Chairman Wuntumi has faced previous accusations of illegal mining through his company, Akuafo Mining. While the immediate reasons for the CID's invitation remain unclear, the timing coincides with the transition period from the NPP to the NDC. The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, recently issued a warning to state agencies to halt all payments. This development adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing political situation in Ghana. The journalist concluded by saying they would provide updates as they become available. The situation remains fluid and developments are expected.
