Teen Charged with Murder After Elderly Woman Stabbed in Pickering

A 14-year-old has been charged with the murder of an 80-year-old woman in Pickering, Ontario. Security camera footage shows the teen walking towards the victim's home at 2:51 PM on May 29th, 2025. Eleven minutes later, he is seen walking away from the scene. Police have not released the victim's name, respecting the family's wishes for privacy. "Residents were told to shelter in place while multiple units conducted an extensive manhunt in the area." said a police spokesperson. The suspect was apprehended at approximately 8:30 PM and is scheduled to appear in court on June 20th. The incident has shocked the community, leaving residents shaken and concerned about safety.
