In the video, the individual expresses satisfaction with receiving the funds, remarking on the hot weather and stating he 'could not imagine sitting in an office or working on a building site for minimum wage.' He further describes such work as 'disgusting,' concluding with 'Big up Universal Credit.' The video, uploaded on August 13, 2025, has accumulated over 620,000 views, 33,900 likes, and nearly 20,000 shares, alongside almost 1,000 comments. The comment section reflects a strong public reaction, with many users expressing frustration over their own working wages compared to the displayed benefit amount. Some comments suggest the video is 'rage-bait' or misinformation, with one user noting, 'Most people I know receive just £823 a month on Universal Credit. And these people are genuinely sick and disabled. So many of you in the comments are falling for this squashed drumstick rage bait video and amplifying harmful misinformation.' The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has not issued a statement regarding this specific video.
