Budapest, Hungary – The Bethesda Children's Hospital has launched a vital fundraising campaign to acquire two specialized, accessible minibuses for transporting young patients. The initiative, highlighted in a recent video featuring local personality Görög Zita and several children, aims to raise 40 million Hungarian Forints. The hospital, which operates across multiple buildings, faces a significant challenge in safely and comfortably transporting children who use wheelchairs between facilities. "Imagine trying to navigate the Városliget in a wheelchair in winter or 200-degree heat in summer," the hospital's statement reads, emphasizing the daily struggles faced by families. The new minibuses are intended to provide a dignified and predictable transport solution, ensuring children can attend their development sessions and examinations without undue hardship. This would not only alleviate a substantial burden from parents but also allow the time saved to be dedicated to the children's healing process. "Every step is a struggle for many families, but now we have the opportunity to make these steps easier together!" the campaign organizers stated. The hospital encourages both individual and corporate donations to reach their goal, promising that every contribution and share makes a huge difference. Donations can be made via bank card or bank transfer, with details provided on the Bethesda Children's Hospital's official channels. The children featured in the video participated with their parents' consent.
