
Over 1,200 Unlicensed Drivers Caught in Johor Road Safety Operation
Johor's Road Safety Operation Yields Hundreds of Unlicensed Drivers and Thousands of Violations Johor, Malaysia – In a recent seven-day special operation conducted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) during the Aidiladha holiday, authorities uncovered a significant number of traffic violations. The operation, aimed at enhancing road safety, resulted in the detection of 1,264 drivers operating vehicles without valid licenses. A staggering 5,744 violation notices were issued in total. "These offenses are extremely serious," stated Azmil Zainal Adnan, JPJ director of Johor. "Driving without a license not only breaks the law but also significantly increases the risk of accidents." The operation also included inspections of 45,395 vehicles, with 803 found to be in violation of safety regulations. Many of these violations involved motorcycles lacking proper safety equipment. The operation highlights a concerning lack of awareness regarding road safety regulations among some drivers. The JPJ has pledged to continue its strict enforcement efforts to ensure road safety, especially during peak holiday travel periods. The success of this operation underscores the importance of consistent enforcement to protect road users.
