The Ariel Atom 4, a vehicle renowned for its minimalist design and extreme performance, was recently showcased in a detailed video review. The presenter highlighted the car's extensive use of carbon fiber, visible on its front lip and other frontal areas, contributing to its remarkably low weight. A key feature noted were the Ohlins shock absorbers, visible suspension components that underscore the vehicle's racing pedigree. Despite its track-focused nature, the Ariel Atom 4 surprisingly includes a functional trunk, a detail often overlooked in lightweight performance cars. Underneath its exposed frame, the car is powered by an engine inherited from the Honda Civic Type R. This powerplant delivers an impressive 370 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. With a curb weight of only 600 kilograms, the Ariel Atom 4 boasts an astonishing 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 2.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h. The interior maintains a simple, driver-centric approach, featuring bucket seats with racing harnesses and a six-speed manual gearbox. The steering wheel is equally minimalistic, devoid of unnecessary buttons, emphasizing a direct driving experience. The exposed mechanisms beneath the pedals further illustrate the car's pure engineering philosophy. The chassis is a rigid and lightweight tubular design, contributing to its exceptional handling and direct steering, making every curve an incredible experience.
