Cadiz, Spain – Glovo delivery riders in Cadiz are raising serious concerns about their working conditions, alleging that the company has failed to pay them for work completed last month. A local rider, who uses the handle @alexboken_ on social media, posted a video on July 11, 2025, stating that riders had not received their payments, which were due on the 10th of the month. In his video, the rider explained, "We haven't been paid by Glovo. They do whatever they want." He further detailed changes in work arrangements, claiming that riders are now subjected to mandatory 30-hour workweeks with pre-assigned shifts. "They are setting our schedules for us. We cannot choose anything," he stated, adding that these schedules often consist of two 3-hour blocks, such as 1 PM to 4 PM and 8 PM to 11 PM. The rider also expressed frustration over the company's alleged practice of canceling previously chosen hours and imposing non-consecutive rest days. "Next week, for example, I have to rest on Monday and Sunday," he said, highlighting the lack of flexibility. Furthermore, he reported a lack of transparency regarding earnings, stating, "I still don't have access to Workday, and therefore, I don't have access to my payslip, so I don't know what they are paying me for." The video, which quickly gained traction with over 100,000 views, has sparked discussion among other delivery workers, shedding light on the challenges faced by those in the gig economy. Efforts to reach Glovo for comment were ongoing at the time of this report.
