Alissa Cawthon, the bride-to-be, shared her harrowing experience, detailing a series of escalating red flags that culminated in unknown individuals attempting to breach their Airbnb rental. According to Cawthon, the unsettling incidents began upon arrival when her Uber driver warned her not to walk around the neighborhood at night, contradicting positive online reviews of the area. Later, the Airbnb host allegedly offered the group VIP club access, a gesture Cawthon initially dismissed as typical Las Vegas promotion but later viewed with suspicion. The most alarming event occurred late Friday night after the group had returned to their rental. While preparing for bed, they heard repeated knocking on their front door and then aggressive banging on a back window and sliding glass door. "Someone's trying to get in, someone's messing with us," Cawthon recounted, describing the panic that ensued. The house, she noted, lacked blinds or curtains, leaving them exposed. Despite their distress, a 911 dispatcher reportedly told the group that it was not an emergency and advised them to call back only if the intruders successfully entered the house. Cawthon expressed frustration with the response, stating, "No, that's not good enough, this is an emergency." The group, armed with kitchen knives and a small bottle of pepper spray, remained barricaded until the threat subsided.
