CHERNIHIV, Ukraine – A recent video posted by Anastasiya Markova has brought the Chernihiv Regional Children's Hospital's infectious diseases department into sharp focus, with allegations of severe unsanitary conditions and unprofessional staff conduct. The video, uploaded on August 25, 2025, quickly gained traction, amassing over 88,000 views and numerous comments from individuals sharing similar experiences.Markova, who was admitted with her child on August 23, 2025, documented the "horrific" state of the shower room, describing "rags lying on the floor that no one removes or changes," widespread "black mold," and a ceiling with a "rusty, dilapidated pipe" from which water leaks. "It looks like it's about to fall on your head," she stated in her video description, emphasizing that "THIS IS A CHILDREN'S INFECTIOUS DISEASES DEPARTMENT!!!" She further criticized the medical personnel, claiming they "behave as if you came to their home" and exhibit a "syndrome of a dissatisfied face." Markova reported a lack of information regarding her child's health, stating, "doctors do not comment on the child's condition during the examination; you have to run after everyone and ask what, how, and why."The video has resonated deeply with the public, drawing a flood of comments detailing similar negative encounters at the hospital. One user recounted their sister's experience, where she was told to "go buy a bandage" for her child's catheter because the hospital had none. Another commenter described the conditions in a department for infants as "horror," with staff treating them "like dirt" and providing "no explanation for the condition of a 23-day-old infant."
