Koenigsegg Unveils Revolutionary 'Dark Matter' Electric Motor Koenigsegg has introduced a groundbreaking electric motor named 'Dark Matter,' set to redefine performance in hybrid vehicles. The innovative motor boasts an impressive 800 horsepower and 1250 Newton-meters of torque, all while weighing a mere 36 kilograms. This compact yet powerful unit is designed to complement Koenigsegg's traditional internal combustion engines. The first application of the 'Dark Matter' motor will be in the new Koenigsegg Gemera, a 1700-kilogram hypercar. When paired with the Gemera's classic V8 twin-turbo engine, the combined powertrain is projected to deliver an astonishing 2300 horsepower. This setup eliminates the need for heavy battery packs typically associated with high-performance electric vehicles, offering a unique solution for achieving extreme power-to-weight ratios.
