Iddin Ramli Challenges Misconceptions About Tabligh Jamaat: 'They Are Inviting, Not Forcing'
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – In a recent podcast clip, religious speaker Iddin Ramli addressed the prevalent misconceptions and fear surrounding the Tabligh Jamaat, an Islamic missionary movement. Ramli highlighted how many people misunderstand the group's intentions, often reacting with avoidance or even pride in shunning their outreach efforts. "Many people misunderstand the Tabligh Jamaat," Ramli stated in the video. "They are afraid of them, and some even boast about running away when they encounter them." He pointed out the negative comments often seen on online content related to the Tabligh Jamaat, expressing dismay at the extent of public aversion. Ramli clarified that members of the Tabligh Jamaat are merely inviting people to religion, not forcing them. "These people come to talk about religion; don't be afraid, don't run away," he urged. He further elaborated on a theological perspective, suggesting that the inability to connect with religious practices like reading the Quran or performing prayers is not due to personal incapacity but rather Allah's divine will. "It's not that we can't read the Quran; it's Allah who hasn't chosen us to read the Quran," he explained, emphasizing that true humility lies in prostrating to Allah, not in worldly possessions.
