Malaysia Launches Dermasiswa B40 Program to Aid Low-Income Students Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Malaysian government has launched the Dermasiswa B40 program, a crucial initiative designed to alleviate the financial strain on families from the bottom 40% income bracket (B40). This program offers financial assistance to students pursuing diploma-level education, directly supporting their educational journey. According to Sharifah Khadijah Tuan Hadi, Deputy Director of the Human Capital Cluster, Public Service Department, "This program, which doesn't require upfront payments, aims to transform the lives of families through education." The program has allocated 10,000 slots this year. The application period for students who completed SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) and are pursuing diploma-level TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programs is open until June 15th. However, online applications through UPU closed in March. The program underscores the government's commitment to ensuring educational access for all Malaysians, regardless of their socioeconomic background. The initiative is a testament to the nation's dedication to bridging the educational gap and empowering its youth.
