Speeding Bus Crash Near Tasik Banding: JSPT Launches Full Investigation

A bus carrying students from the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) was involved in an accident on the East-West Highway near Tasik Banding, Gerik, early this morning. According to a report by Berita RTM, the bus was allegedly speeding. The JSPT (Jabatan Siasatan dan Penguatkuasaan Trafik) has formed a special task force to investigate the incident. "The investigation will be thorough," stated Datuk Seri Yusri Hassan Basri, Director of JSPT, in a press conference. He also confirmed that he visited the families of those involved in the accident at Hospital Gerik and is expected to visit those in Hospital Ipoh as well. The accident highlights the importance of road safety and the need for thorough investigations into such incidents to prevent future occurrences. The families of the victims have been visited by the Director of JSPT, offering some measure of support during this difficult time.
