Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Malaysian government has officially opened applications for the Subsidized Petrol Control System (SKPS), aimed at streamlining the distribution of RON95 petrol subsidies. YB Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, announced that the targeted subsidy will see RON95 priced at RM1.99 per liter for eligible households and private vehicles. Speaking at the Program Paparian Merdeka Briskwalk & PjRM on September 13, 2025, in Papar, Datuk Armizan stated, "The application for the Subsidized Petrol Control System (SKPS) has been opened. Register immediately." He emphasized that the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has been tasked with overseeing the distribution of RON95 subsidies, which will benefit two main categories: public transport and goods transport. For public transport, nine types of vehicles are eligible, including taxis, rental cars, school buses, hearses, ambulances, fire trucks, feeder buses, stop-and-go buses, and mini buses. The goods transport sector includes 12 types of vehicles, such as panel vans, window vans, semi-panel vans, food catering lorries and vans, general cargo lorries, luton/box lorries, refrigerated lorries, mobile service lorries and vans, livestock lorries, and agricultural product lorries. Datuk Armizan assured that KPDN has developed and integrated the SKPS system with JPJ registration records to ensure a smooth application process. "Once applications are made and all documents are fulfilled, approval can be obtained in less than an hour, not even a day," he stated. Successful applicants will then apply for a Fleet Card from one of three chosen oil companies (Petronas, Shell, Petron, Caltex, BHP, or FIVE) to access the subsidized fuel. Companies are encouraged to apply promptly. KPDN has also established a hotline (03-8882 5893, 03-8882 5894, 03-8882 5923, 03-8882 6667) operating Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, to assist with any inquiries or issues related to the SKPS application.
