Serbian Priest Alleges Presidential Blackmail of Bishops Using UDBA Files
A Serbian priest has publicly claimed that the country's president is using files from the former State Security Administration (UDBA) to blackmail bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church. In a recent video, the priest stated that the public has been waiting 80 years for these files to be opened, asserting that their contents are being leveraged to control certain religious leaders. "This problem, until it is resolved, we cannot move forward," the priest emphasized. He argued that full transparency regarding these historical archives is essential for both the state and the church to cleanse themselves and progress. "We must see what is written in those files, who worked for the UDBA, and who continues to work for the UDBA," he urged. The priest concluded by stressing the need to clear these historical impurities to enable a brighter future, free from individuals compromised by past dealings.
