Manure Pile Causes Stench in Belarusian Village
Manure Pile Causes Stink in Bykhov Village; Local Authorities Intervene A resident of Gorodets, Bykhov district, Belarus, recently complained about a large pile of manure left near her property by OAO «PMK-85 Vodstroy». The strong odor, she said, was affecting her home. "The stench is noticeable not only in the yard, but also inside the house," she commented in a video posted online. The video quickly went viral. Officials from the district's agricultural department, along with journalists, visited the site to investigate. Alexey Malashenko, director of OAO «PMK-85 Vodstroy», explained that the manure was intended to be plowed into the field but inclement weather delayed the process. "Long-term storage of manure wasn't planned. It was supposed to be plowed in immediately," Malashenko stated. He assured residents that the issue would be resolved within one to two days. The situation highlights the challenges faced by agricultural enterprises and the importance of swift responses to environmental concerns raised by residents.
