A Culinary Journey to Karlos Arguiñano's Bar in Zarautz: Pintxos and Pastries by the Sea

ZARAUTZ, Spain – Food enthusiasts are flocking to Bar Karlos Arguiñano in Zarautz, a new culinary concept that complements the renowned chef's restaurant and hotel. The establishment, located by the sea, offers a diverse menu of traditional pintxos and dishes, attracting both locals and tourists. Among the highlights are classic pintxos such as the 'gilda' (olives, anchovies, and peppers), fresh anchovies, and creamy croquettes. Patrons can also savor a substantial potato omelet, flavorful patatas bravas with a homemade spicy sauce, and various meat-based pintxos like 'txistorra' and 'morcilla' (blood sausage) with roasted red peppers. Seafood options include the unique 'toldotxo,' featuring hake and 'zarautz sand,' and perfectly fried cod with 'piperrada.' For heartier appetites, the tender 'carrillera' (beef cheek) is a popular choice. In addition to its savory offerings, Bar Karlos Arguiñano boasts a dedicated pastry corner, where visitors can indulge in artisanal breads, pastries, and chocolates. These sweet treats are crafted by Jose Arguiñano, son of the celebrated chef, ensuring a delightful end to any meal. The bar provides a vibrant and inviting atmosphere for enjoying authentic Basque flavors.
