Elephant's Unexpected Convenience Store Snack Run in Thailand
A wild Asian elephant made an unexpected visit to a convenience store in Khao Yai National Park, Thailand, on June 2, 2025. Footage from the store's security cameras shows the 27-year-old male elephant, named Plai Blang Lek, calmly entering the store and helping himself to a variety of snacks, including bags of candy, bananas, and peanuts. According to the store owner, Khamploi Kakaew, "Business was slow that day, and then the elephant just walked right in around 2 PM!" Park rangers eventually arrived and safely escorted the elephant out of the store, ensuring no one was harmed in the unusual incident. The incident highlights the occasional close encounters humans have with wildlife, even in seemingly ordinary settings.
