MEXICO CITY – Four years have passed since the tragic death of beloved Mexican actor Octavio Ocaña, known for his iconic role as "Benito Rivers" in the popular television series "Vecinos." On October 29, 2021, Ocaña, then 22, died from a gunshot wound after a police pursuit in Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico. Initial reports from authorities stated the shot was accidental and self-inflicted, originating from the actor's own weapon. However, Ocaña's family vehemently disputed this account, commissioning independent experts and gathering evidence to challenge the official narrative. Their investigation suggested the fatal shot came from a police officer's weapon during the pursuit. This persistent quest for truth led to significant legal developments. In time, Leopoldo N, one of the police agents involved, was detained and processed. More recently, in May 2025, another implicated agent was also apprehended. The family, friends, and fans continue to honor Ocaña's memory, with his grave serving as a vibrant testament to a life cut short and an ongoing demand for complete justice.
