Lunch Interrupted: Non-Venomous Snake Creates Stir in Guatemalan Home

A family in the Puente de Palo canton of Escuintla, Guatemala, received a fright while preparing lunch. They discovered a snake hidden under their grill. "We were about to start the fire when we saw it," one family member recounted. Firefighters from Masagua arrived and identified the snake as a non-venomous false coral snake. Despite its non-venomous nature, the snake's resemblance to the dangerous coral snake caused alarm. The firefighters safely removed the snake and took it to the Antiguo Exótico rescue center. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of being aware of wildlife in the area.
