'Crime she didn't commit': Jayden-Lee Meek's grandmother defends 'killer mom'
Jayden-Lee Meek's maternal grandmother accused authorities of trying to 'discredit' her daughter, Tiffany, over a 'crime she didn't commit'.
A family in South Africa has publicly voiced their profound disappointment and concern over the handling of a recent court case involving their daughter/grandson. In a video statement uploaded on July 14, 2025, the family alleged that they, along with their attorney, were denied proper access and representation during the first court appearance. The family stated that they were present at the court from 8:30 AM but were instructed to wait outside. They further claimed that their attorney, Novela Naidoo, was "rudely spoken to" by a prosecutor and told to wait outside until the matter was processed. According to the family, this sequence of events prevented their family member from being represented in court and denied family and friends the opportunity to offer support inside the courtroom. The family expressed a complete loss of faith in the criminal justice system, asserting that the police, prosecutors, and activists worked together to ensure their family member was not represented and that access was denied "under false pretenses." They are now seeking a fair bail hearing and trial, hoping for justice amidst their deep disappointment.
