"She offered incredibly cheap insurance with extensive coverage," explains Raquel Vilariño, a lawyer representing several victims. "But it was all a lie." Vilariño has been contacted by at least 20 people affected by the alleged fraud. One of the most serious cases involves a woman who discovered her health insurance policy was invalid just as she faced significant medical expenses for cancer treatment - approximately €5,000. Three courts are currently investigating the case, and at least 17 lawyers are involved, representing the victims, insurance companies, and banks. The accused is facing charges of fraud, document falsification, and usurpation of civil status.
