
Kazakhstan Police Crack Major Car Theft Ring, Recovering Millions in Stolen Vehicles
In the village of Atakmeken, located in the Zhetysu region of Kazakhstan, a significant car theft case has recently concluded. Two individuals were apprehended for their involvement in stealing thirteen vehicles, resulting in a total loss of 314 million tenge. The crime involved the theft of six cars from a Chinese citizen who had entrusted the vehicles to the suspects for transport to Georgia. Among these stolen vehicles were three Jetour models, two Mercedes C260s, and a Mercedes GLE 260. The thieves then proceeded to resell these vehicles and transport them to Shymkent and the Zhambyl region. Further investigation revealed that the criminals had also targeted a local logistics entrepreneur, stealing an additional seven cars. These included a Range Rover, a Mini Cooper SE, three Li 7s, and two Li 9s. Some of these cars were also resold, while others were sold at reduced prices through acquaintances in Almaty. A spokesperson for the Zhetysu regional police department stated, "The swift apprehension of these individuals is a testament to the effectiveness of our investigative techniques." Following the arrests, law enforcement officials have been able to recover several of the stolen vehicles. Currently, the suspects are in police custody while the case is prepared for court. This successful investigation serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious activity.
