Philippines braces for impact as three weather systems converge
Three weather systems to affect the Philippines; several parts of the country will experience rain. The Philippines is expected to be impacted by three weather systems, according to GMA Integrated News. These systems include easterlies, a frontal system, and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). The frontal system will bring cool and refreshing winds, while the ITCZ will cause winds to collide from the northern and southern hemispheres. The convergence of these winds will produce thick clouds and rainfall. "Based on data from PAGASA, there's a chance of rain in Mindanao and parts of Southern Luzon starting tomorrow morning," said a GMA weather reporter. By the afternoon, much of the country could experience heavy rain, potentially leading to floods and landslides. The heat index in Metro Manila is expected to reach 41°C, with other areas reaching as high as 43°C, creating a danger level and a potential for heatstroke. A cloud cluster is also present over eastern Mindanao. The ITCZ will continue to be monitored in the coming days. The public is urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
