A homeowner in the UK, who wishes to remain anonymous, returned from a trip to France to discover their residence had been severely damaged by a house fire. The incident, which occurred on Monday, resulted in extensive structural damage, including a collapsed roof and widespread charring throughout the property. Speaking from the site, the homeowner confirmed that the fire was accidental, with forensic investigations clearing any suspicion of electrical or other foul play. "I got a phone call saying my house was burning down," the owner stated, expressing surprise at the extent of the damage. "I didn't really think it was going to be to this extent, but here we are." Despite the significant destruction, the homeowner confirmed that all residents and animals are safe, stating, "Nobody has died, all animals got out." While the ground floor sustained considerable smoke and fire damage, some items, such as a pile of firewood in the living room, remarkably survived intact. The upstairs, however, suffered more severe damage as flames entered through the top windows. The homeowner, who is insured, plans to document the rebuilding process on social media to raise awareness about fire safety. They emphasized their clear standing with authorities, noting, "I have done nothing wrong." The property is expected to undergo extensive renovation, with scaffolding due to be erected soon.
