A Texas woman talks about the new documentary 'The Perfect Neighbor' and how she experienced racism in her own neighborhood.
A woman residing in a suburban neighborhood in the United States has come forward with allegations of sustained racist harassment from her neighbors. The individual, who identifies as a single Black woman, claims that since moving into her home, she has been subjected to a series of discriminatory acts. These incidents reportedly include property vandalism, the placement of provocative signs in her yard, and instances of being monitored via social media to coordinate further harassment. She also stated that her neighbors frequently contacted law enforcement and the Homeowners Association (HOA) over trivial matters, even before events had commenced. "They called the police when I had a gathering that hadn't even started yet. There were two people at my house when I get a knock on the door," she recounted. Furthermore, she alleged that a neighbor directed a derogatory term towards her mother. The woman emphasized, "All that was was racism," suggesting that her race and success are the underlying motivations for the harassment. Authorities were reportedly involved at one point, instructing the neighbors to cease contact.
