The investigation follows numerous complaints regarding the authenticity of the jewelry sold by the individual on TikTok. According to reports, the items were allegedly purchased from Chinese suppliers for as little as 5 lei and then resold for up to 100 lei. During a recent live broadcast, the TikTok seller, Monica, was seen presenting various jewelry pieces and watches. She addressed comments from viewers, some of whom accused her of selling fake goods and referenced past police involvement. Monica vehemently denied these claims, stating her products were not from platforms like AliExpress and asserting their originality. She also dismissed allegations of prior police complaints against her. However, public comments on the video suggest a different narrative, with several users claiming to have purchased similar items for significantly lower prices from other online marketplaces such as Temu and AliExpress. Some commenters also reported being blocked by Monica after questioning the authenticity of her products or mentioning her alleged past encounters with law enforcement.
