A group of tourists traveling by bus from Georgia to Belarus experienced an unexpected 18-hour delay at the border after their driver was found transporting contraband. The incident, which occurred on August 2, 2025, led to the bus being turned back to Georgia, leaving passengers disembarked at the border crossing. According to a video shared by one of the travelers, irxen_art, the group was left to wait in a mountainous area, having already cleared customs. The author stated, "Our bus driver was found with contraband... He was carrying some spare parts, and they just turned him back to Georgia." Passengers reported consuming all their provisions, including food, wine, and chacha, and spending their remaining funds on paid toilet facilities. Despite the challenging circumstances, the group attempted to maintain a positive outlook. "We don't despair, we drink, we sing, we dance," the author noted, humorously referring to the ordeal as "an additional day of rest in the mountains." The situation highlights the unpredictable nature of international travel and border procedures.
