UCLA Grad's Nonprofit Tackles Menstrual Health Disparities
In a dorm room at UCLA, Titilope Olutu, the 2024 valedictorian of Sacramento Dream.org, passionately advocates for menstrual health awareness. Her nonprofit, Period Padi, is making waves, providing essential resources to students across the US, Nigeria, and India. "It's important for us as a community to recognize menstrual health awareness month," Olutu explains, highlighting disparities in access to products and education. Period Padi tackles these issues head-on, offering wellness booths, workshops, and guidebooks. A grant from the NBA Foundation has enabled the organization to scale tremendously, supporting over 9,500 students. Olutu's dedication and Period Padi's innovative approach offer a beacon of hope in addressing a critical global health issue.
