‘I had it too on May 28th’: Woman issues warning for people who use Ring camera…
Many people get a Ring camera to improve their home security. However, some are claiming that it’s left them more vulnerable than before.
A recent online video has brought attention to potential security vulnerabilities affecting Ring doorbell users. A user, who goes by the nickname Jeeka, shared her experience discovering that her Ring doorbell account had been accessed by multiple unauthorized devices. According to Jeeka, her Ring doorbell was linked to three to five separate unknown devices on May 28th. She further noted that her sister-in-law experienced a similar unauthorized access on the same date. In her video, Jeeka urged other Ring doorbell owners to immediately check their 'Authorized client devices' settings within the Ring app. She advised users to navigate to the 'Control Center' and then 'Authorized client devices' to review and remove any unfamiliar connections. She emphasized the importance of changing email addresses and passwords associated with Ring accounts if unauthorized access is detected. Jeeka expressed concern regarding the lack of official notification from Ring about this apparent widespread issue. The incident highlights the ongoing importance of regularly monitoring smart home device security settings and maintaining strong, unique passwords to protect personal privacy and home security.
