A labor lawyer has announced a significant legal victory, securing over 11,000 euros in severance pay for a client who was dismissed after only 17 days of employment. The lawyer, Juanma Lorente, stated that the client had to take medical leave shortly after beginning work, which reportedly led the company to cease payments and subsequently dismiss the individual for a minor infraction. "We managed to achieve this substantial compensation without needing to go to trial," Lorente explained, detailing that the process involved filing a conciliation paper and a formal demand. He highlighted the unusual nature of the case, as the initial compensation amount for such a short period of employment would typically be much lower. This outcome underscores the importance of legal counsel in navigating complex employment disputes.
