MOGILEV, Belarus – Residents of a building in Mogilev are grappling with a persistent and severe issue: a large accumulation of water on their rooftop, which they sarcastically refer to as a "pool." A recent video uploaded by a resident, KepkaNAnojkah, visually documents the problem, showing a vast expanse of reddish-brown water covering the building's roof, reflecting the sky. According to the video's author, this issue has plagued residents for three to four years. The primary cause is identified as a clogged storm drain on the roof, leading to water pooling and subsequently leaking into apartments below. "For three years we argued and fought to get our roof replaced; during rains, there was a waterfall in the apartment," the author stated in the video's description. The ongoing problem has reportedly caused significant damage to apartment interiors, requiring considerable effort and expense for repairs. The resident expressed frustration with "ZHEU 7," the housing maintenance service, for what they describe as a lack of effective action, receiving only "promises" rather than solutions. The video serves as a public appeal for assistance, with the author asking for guidance on where to turn to achieve a tangible resolution to the long-standing problem. This situation highlights potential challenges in urban infrastructure maintenance and responsiveness of utility services in the region.
