San Diego, CA - A local pet owner recently shared her remarkable experience at an emergency veterinary hospital that offers an unprecedented level of comfort and transparency for pet parents. Kristina Elise Holistic Health, whose Golden Retriever was admitted with a high fever and bloody diarrhea, found herself at a facility that allows owners to stay overnight in a bed right alongside their ailing pets. "He had a 104.6 fever with very bad bloody diarrhea, and we did all the testing," the owner recounted, describing the distressing initial hours. "We have no idea what's going on." She explained that after admitting her dog, she was informed about the unique policy. "They said we have beds that are in the rooms for dogs that are staying in our hospital, the human can stay with them." Beyond just a bed, the hospital provided an array of amenities, including fuzzy blankets, pillows, and fresh sheets, with laundry services available. "They have toothbrushes and floss in the bathroom if you're staying overnight or for multiple nights with your pet," she added, noting the thoughtful provisions. The facility also offered an "open concept" approach to care, allowing her to be present during critical procedures. "Everything in this vet is an open concept. So you are there when they're taking blood work, you're there when they're doing an endoscopy, you're watching your dog get an ultrasound." This level of involvement and comfort stood in stark contrast to her previous experiences. "I almost went to a different place today," she said, referencing other emergency vets in the San Diego area. "I haven't liked them. They've been dismissive... I've had bad experiences with vets. Not here." She emphasized the profound difference it made for her dog, who was visibly more relaxed being with his owner. "He's so much more relaxed because he's with his mama." The hospital staff's attentiveness extended to offering coffee and water, and even a change of clothes when she unexpectedly needed one. This comprehensive and compassionate approach has left the owner deeply impressed and grateful during a stressful time.
