Athens, Greece – Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis recently took to social media to present a concise overview of his government's accomplishments over the past month. In a video titled "Let's do a challenge?", the Prime Minister, seated at his desk, quickly enumerated 11 key initiatives and milestones.Among the achievements highlighted were the delivery of the new Patras-Pyrgos highway, the first-ever public evaluation of the National Health System (ESY), and the licensing of four non-state universities. The Prime Minister also noted the appointment of nearly 9,000 permanent educators to schools and the elimination of charges for ATM withdrawals from Greek banks, alongside the capping of fees for withdrawals from third-party ATMs.Further points of progress included the launch of the new digital application "My Street," the announcement of a 5-kilometer extension to the Evros border fence, and the tabling of a government program for social provision and affordable housing, utilizing public assets. Additionally, a new disciplinary law for public servants was passed, designed to expedite related procedures and potentially lead to the dismissal of those who refuse evaluation. The Prime Minister also reported a significant reduction in irregular migratory flows towards Crete, attributed to emergency measures, and a record in both employment and declared overtime hours in sectors where digital work cards are implemented.Public reaction to the video was mixed, with some commenters praising the government's progress: "In one month, the work of years and other governments!! Keep moving forward and change the country!!👏👏" Another supporter wrote, "Prime Minister, all of Greece loves and thanks you for the good things you have done!!♥️♥️♥️." However, other citizens expressed concerns, with one asking, "Is the fact that non-state universities were licensed a positive thing?" and another commenting on economic issues: "blah blah for the citizen, daily life NOTHING, feta is 15€." Some called for further action, such as implementing digital work cards for the public sector or addressing the demographic issue. The video serves as a direct communication tool, aiming to inform citizens about the government's ongoing efforts and achievements.
