Elderly Cyclist, Laura Pausini's Uncle, Killed in Bologna Hit-and-Run

BOLOGNA – Ettore Pausini, 78, uncle of renowned singer Laura Pausini, died on Monday after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident on Stradelli Guelfi in Bologna. Pausini was cycling back to his Bologna residence when an Opel Astra, reportedly speeding in the opposite direction, collided with him. The driver of the Opel Astra failed to stop and continued towards San Lazzaro at high speed, leaving the elderly man fatally injured. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but Pausini, originally from Solarolo and brother to Laura Pausini's father Fabrizio, succumbed to his injuries. Local police have launched an extensive investigation to identify and apprehend the driver responsible. "We are reviewing all available surveillance footage and witness testimonies to piece together the events and locate the vehicle involved," stated a police spokesperson.
