An Argentinian psychologist, who has resided in Spain for seven years, recently shared her ongoing observations regarding cultural differences that continue to surprise her. In a widely viewed social media post, she highlighted several distinct practices she has encountered. Among her notable observations, the psychologist mentioned the prevalence of people consuming beer as early as 11 AM, a stark contrast to her country of origin. She also noted the remarkably swift service in Spanish bars, where patrons are often asked for their order almost immediately upon arrival, even before being fully seated. Another point of cultural distinction for her was the quiet atmosphere on public transport. She remarked on the "sepulchral silence," contrasting it with the more lively and conversational environment typically found in Argentinian public transit, where discussions about personal matters, weather, and celebrity news are common. Additionally, the practice of dining late, around 10 PM, for everyday meals also stood out. Despite these cultural adjustments, the psychologist conveyed a positive outlook on her experience. She stated that while emigration presents its own set of challenges and is not a "graduates' trip," she is ultimately content and happy to be living in Spain.
