DBKL Online Services Disrupted by Technical Glitch
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) online services experienced a major disruption on May 18, 2025, due to a technical issue. The disruption affected several key online platforms, including e-Lesen (e-license), e-Perumahan (e-housing), Adu@KL (complaint system), and Tempah@KL (booking system). According to Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur, "DBKL has implemented mitigation actions in stages, working with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA)." The systems have been gradually recovering since May 1st, 2025, with a full restoration expected by May 23rd, 2025. DBKL assures the public that backup data remained unaffected and is committed to enhancing ICT security for future service reliability. This incident underscores the importance of robust online systems and the need for proactive measures to prevent similar disruptions.
