Record-High Simpan SSPN Dividend Shows PTPTN's Competence
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) recently announced a 4.05% dividend for its National Education Savings Scheme (Simpan SSPN) for the year 2024. This marks the highest dividend payout in the scheme's 10-year history, exceeding the approximate 2.5% inflation rate. Dr. Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid, Chief Economist at Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, praised the announcement, stating, "This is something to be proud of. The dividend's exceeding inflation shows PTPTN's competence in managing these funds." The high dividend is expected to attract more depositors, particularly parents planning for their children's higher education. PTPTN's commitment to low-risk investments ensures consistent performance, encouraging more parents to participate in the Simpan SSPN program. This positive development underscores the government's dedication to supporting higher education in Malaysia.
