One Dead, Four Injured in Two-MPV Crash in Perak A fatal accident involving two multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) occurred at kilometer 1.8 on Jalan Gerik-Kupang in Perak, Malaysia, resulting in one death and four serious injuries. The incident, reported to authorities around 11:45 pm on May 30th, involved a 49-year-old male driver who lost control of his vehicle, entering oncoming traffic and colliding with another MPV. "We received information about the accident around 11:45 pm last night," stated Gerik District Police Chief, Superintendent Muhammad Firdaus Abdullah. The impact of the collision was severe, causing significant damage to both vehicles. The 49-year-old driver died at the scene, despite receiving immediate medical attention at Gerik Hospital. His 56-year-old wife sustained a fractured rib and was transferred to Taiping Hospital. Their two young children, aged 3 and 5, suffered head and facial injuries and were taken to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh for treatment.
