Motorcyclist Killed in Kuantan Highway Accident

A fatal accident occurred on June 1, 2025, around 2:40 PM, on KM 195.2 of the East Coast Highway 1 (LPT1) near Kuantan, Malaysia. A 29-year-old electrical goods store employee died after his motorcycle was struck by a car driven by a female army officer. According to Kuantan District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohamad Zahri Wan Busu, the army captain, age 28, was traveling from Kuantan to Bentong when her vehicle lost control. "The accident happened when the car lost control before veering to the left and hitting the guardrail," said ACP Wan Mohamad. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The army officer sustained no injuries. The case is under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
